This simple book provides the opportunity for you to have simple fun with your child. There are several pictures in the book. You are encouraged to say what the picture is. Once your child has identified the objects, you can then over emphasis the sounds so the child can hear the sounds. You can then encourge your child to say which sounds they hear. This simple book encourages simple reading and picture recognition. My son and I play these simple games to encourage him to read and spell. There are lots of opportunities for repetition and consolidation. You can read the book again and again until your child can confidently recognise and name the objects, say the sounds and tell you what the word says.
