Driving back from the garage in the worst storm of the winter, with a failed M.O.T for their old car and no funds for another one, Reverend Mother Joan of the Stella Maris Convent didn't hold much hope for their future. Expenses were overtaking them and the boiler was on the blink. Even Sister Imelda, who could 'fix' anything mechanical, wouldn't risk another patch on it. Winter would be so cold.
