"Under the spell of a scammer"

What if as a woman you find yourself alone? Will you find someone you want to share your life with? And how do you know if it is reliable?

Pam travels the world after her husband's death. During her four-month trek through South America, she befriends George via the Internet. From the start, she strongly doubts his sincerity and friends warn her against scammers (Internet scammers). Yet she enjoys the contact and falls under this man's spell.

Then George cunningly asks for money and everything changes. Through a friend, Pam calls in the FBI, who will monitor their correspondence. A cat-and-mouse game ensues.

When she wants to leave Peru to fly to Ecuador, she is stopped at customs and a predicament arises. Will the FBI be able to catch this man - or is it an organization?

Hello honey, are you there? is the truth-based story of Elly - Pam - van Driel (1942). Against the background of her travel story, she shows how sophisticated scammers work. Elly made her debut as an author in 'Washed up stories'.

"You cannot put this book down. Not only because you're curious about Pam's next travel destination, but also because you want to know what George's next move will be. The ending will surprise you."
