This book is about the emotional problems that have been caused by the pandemic of Covid-19. Being anxiety and depression on top of the list. The pandemic is a global public health emergency which impacts on the mental health of the population. It is causing multiple psychosocial problems (unemployment, social and economic), and psychological problems (anxiety, depression, trauma, domestic violence, alcohol/drug abuse, stress, as well as sleep disorders). For most people with anxiety disorders, the coronavirus alarm can exacerbate this debilitating condition. We see the image of de coronavirus everywhere and this fuels anxiety on people. The challenge for social workers is to be able to demonstrate the relevance of their professional clinical skills to improve the emotional condition of patients and their families affected by the Covid-19, coronavirus.
