It is said that the Pandavas who were in exile had performed this chaturthi vrata and as a result of their observance they were able to getback their lost kingdom. Anyone who performs this Vrata puja with sincerity would receive the blessings of Lord Ganesha in the form of health, wealth and prosperity. Many puranas have spoken of the benefits acquired by many such as Manmatha, Dakhsa, Nala, King Kardama etc., who were benefited by the observance of this Vrata.
The primordial Lord Ganesha, the lord of hosts, the remover of obstacles known and adored by various names throughout India and world, is worthy of first worship-Adipujya. This prime position was accorded to Him by all the deities, unison.
