The book explores circumstances before the introduction of majority of agriculture practices chronological beginnings so far known in the America's. Compares more so other factors in mythology, cultural comparisons and differences, in relation to the New and Old World myths, beliefs or practices. The book is more speculation then examples of absolute hard proofs. Clarke shows how certain practices only in part parallel the period just before agriculture type introductions and at the same time points out why some culture factors are still of Late Paleolithic or Late Epi Gravettian systems both in myth and beliefs. A rare exploration of how the same period of Gobekli Tepe had a New World example in art history at the same time showing not a predominate Magdalenian type culture only by descended belief systems influenced by new emerging groups. He shows where the intersection of predominate change occurs in comparison to the New World mostly focused on the cultural delay effects of Northern South America. There is a lot of information to review and consider when looking at groups as old as the earliest Luwan Culture of Turkey of potential regional appearance into the New World. Rare speculative work of things that have not emerged to explain in history as of yet.
