Carolyn's rich husband has unexpectedly fallen ill and dies...she then flees the family estate when her controlling mother-in-law wants to force her to marry her husband's creepy older brother. Carolyn wants to marry again but only to a man that comes from a stable family.
David believes he's dying...he's been sick since birth and has ruled out any hope for romance.
