They either murder for financial gain, passion, or in order to defend themselves. If you try to imagine a ruthless killer, you probably don't think about a typical stay-at-home mom who lives in a suburban home with her husband and three children.
But in the autumn of 2005, the residents of Mooresville in North Carolina were very interested in an apparent accidental murder of a police officer that would take a more sinister turn as the investigators dug deeper into the secret life of the Witherspoon family and discovered that nothing was how it seemed.
