Miriam's father has remarried and her step-mother doesn't like her. She doesn't have many options as she's uninterested in the young man that is courting her and sees the step-mother's treatment only getting worse...So she runs away.
Not knowing how to navigate through the woods outside her Amish community, she falls ill and is taken in by a local Native American tribe. The young man from her Amish community has not given up on her and tracks her down to her new home with the tribe. Will she stay with the Native Americans who saved her life or will she return to her Amish community?
