Margaret is desperate to escape her sadistic mother and step-brother so she sees a chance for a new life in the form of a mail-order bride catalog. She finds correspondence with a playboy turned ranch hand named Kenneth who must work and gain a wife in order to gain his inheritance. Margaret finds herself instantly attracted to Kenneth but worries that he sees her only as a business transaction.
