Still grieving the loss of her hippie mother, Maggie leaves San Francisco for the Amish town of Lancaster. She goes to see the house she's inherited—from an individual she's never met. Maggie hopes to sell the home as she needs the money...and satisfy her own curiosity. She has her own suspicions, that somehow this piece of land belongs to someone on her birth father's side...A man she's never met and knew very little of.
Rather than the quaint town she expected, she finds Lancaster to be a place of many shadows—big enough to hold a century of secrets, passions, and betrayals. It also comes with a handsome and enigmatic farmer who takes an instant liking to Maggie.
Maggie rummages throughout the home and the town, learning as much about herself as the people in it. In doing so, she finds the Amish town may be just where she belongs.
