Colin (who's wondering how he got into this mess), the reluctant troll Grieve, and the rest of their intrepid group are heading towards the Crack to track down the Nameless One. Faced with a powerful entity of evil, an over-sized fairy with an inferiority complex and a host of strange and unusual creatures from the Crack, Grieve and Colin need all the help they can get.
What they actually get is Ashley Jane Grubb, the vainest girl at Widdleton Elementary school; a directionally-challenged mad dwarf; and Busternut the wizard, whose magic works (or doesn't) in rather weird and wonderful ways.
The odds aren't looking good...
