When a Roy the Dark-Hearted, a charismatic but self-centered and greedy bard, hears about a grand adventure of earth-shattering proportions, he signs on to get a piece of the profits. His fellow adventurers Melixa the witch, Carol the Warrior and Fork the orc may not be happy about it, but they can't deny that his charisma helped land them the gig.

However, he may quickly find that he has bitten off more than he can handle, as this grand adventure comes with life or death stakes.
