Four studies from Isaiah ‒ a summary of the message of Israel's greatest writing prophet. His message was given to a world collapsing into chaos and war. For Isaiah no uncertainty of God's reality could be indulged. God gave him an overwhelming experience of His presence, His power and His purity. Isaiah was to deliver a message of God's terrible judgment as well as His extraordinary mercy. That mercy was revealed in the pain and persistence of God in human affairs. It was described in terms of a servant who experienced extreme abuse ‒ a servant who ultimately calls many others into His service and suffering for the establishment of God's kingdom of righteousness and peace.
