In a town on the south coast of England, three young men are returning home from a night to celebrate one of them moving to London to begin his dream job when they are attacked and one of them is left critically ill. A good samaritan tries to come to their aid but he is attacked and killed. The police investigation, led by DCI Mike Bishop and his Major Crime Investigation Team, discover links between the two victims of the attack and his team find themselves uncovering a miscarriage of justice that led to a man losing his job, house and reputation.
