'Lost Property' is the fourth novel written and published by Helen Herbert. Set in England in 1970-1971 it tells the story of Sage Moorfield, happily married for three years, who returns from a Conference in Scotland to find her home and husband have disappeared without trace. There is absolutely nothing to help her solve the mystery. This is the heart of the book and the reader follows the trials and tribulations faced by Sage as she endeavours to deal with the problem. During the course of the story she meets and makes friends with a variety of interesting people who go out of their way to help her unravel the difficulties. Each of them has a story and each of these, without lessening the importance of the main intrigue, features in a number of sub-plots. Sage's experiences, as a conclusion is reached, result in a gradual change in her outlook and philosophy.
