This is a story set at Lightning Ridge, a small opal mining town on the edge of the outback desert in New South Wales, Australia. There, a twelve-year-old boy discovered an over one hundred million year old fossil belonging to a dinosaur which was later excavated. And who also found a very unusual stone hidden in the deep opal mine where his father had been working.
