Ann
Charles Rousseau flies a bus in downtown Seattle. It's a thankless job, with children screaming and spitting and business passengers taking him for granted. At the end of a long day, he finds an unexpected gift waiting for him in his apartment - a fully equipped house-cleaning robot named Ann. She cooks and cleans and takes care of him way better than he ever did. When the robot seems to develop a will of her own, Charles discovers too late that Ann is not what she appeared to be.
The Little Rebellion
Thomas Bentley awakes from stasis and is immersed in training for his new job. As a model (or clone), Thomas has an entire law library of data uploaded into his animus module implant. On the eve of the most important case of his fleeting legal career, his tailor performs a little rebellion and slips him a copy of a book that changes his life and the course of a nation.
Akson Society
Gault is a mover and a shaker in high society. Living in what's known as the Canopy, a collection of corridors linking the tops of the tallest skyscrapers in Seattle, Gault leads the most powerful group of people in the world. Amanda lives near ground level - a grifter in the eyes of Gault and his ilk. When Gault's remaking of society forces Amanda to work as an escort to feed her children, their two worlds collide with disastrous, or fortuitous, circumstances.
