"Kyle drew his Colt revolver and fired, hitting one of the gunmen. Up on the second floor landing, Doc Holliday drew the gun from the small of his back and fired. Taggart took the bullet in his shoulder and tumbled down the staircase. From where Skeeter was standing, it looked as if Kyle was the one who had shot Taggart.
