What can two siblings do when the rain simply will not stop?

Anansi and his sister Sewa are stuck indoors on a rainy day. With nowhere to go and nothing exciting to do, boredom soon sets in. But Anansi has never been one to let circumstances get the better of him. Before long, imagination transforms an ordinary day at home into an opportunity for fun and adventure.

Adventures of Anansi and Sewa: Rainy Day is a warm and playful picture story about siblings, creativity, imaginative play, and discovering possibilities in unexpected situations.

Inspired by the rich West African and Caribbean storytelling traditions associated with Anansi, the story brings the much-loved trickster figure into a contemporary family setting. Anansi and Sewa encounter the kinds of everyday situations familiar to young children while drawing on curiosity, resourcefulness, and imagination to find their way through them.

With colourful illustrations and an engaging sibling relationship at its heart, Rainy Day offers young readers a story that celebrates creativity, family, and the ability to make something enjoyable out of an ordinary day.

Ideal for children ages 4-8, Rainy Day is well suited to reading at home, in classrooms and in libraries, and provides opportunities for conversations about siblings, imaginative play, creativity, and making your own fun.
