This e-book focuses on the current and potential impact of ICT within the SME sector. The global economic crisis has placed massive pressure on the private sector to reduce costs and increase operational efficiency. The significant contribution made by the small and medium sized enterprise (SME) community worldwide to employment, regional development and innovation is well established. Unfortunately, SMEs are also subject to high rates of business failure and such rates are likely to exacerbate due to the current global economic recession.
