He was jostled and ruthlessly shoved into the police van with its tailgate open. Young boy in his early twenties, built well, fair and tall, Abrar was accused of cold-blooded heinous murder of an esteemed member of the medical fraternity, Dr H. C. Chaturvedi.

The deafening voices and slogans reflected the retaliation and anger of the people whom Dr Chaturvedi had served:

'Why are you taking him away? Kill this inhuman bastard here.

He doesn't deserve to walk alive.'

'This clan is maligning our country.'

'Take him away but dump him in Pakistan, that's where the likes of him belong.'

'No court can give him punishment befitting his monstrous crime. Even death is an easy way out for him.'

The police had to cover him on all sides to save him from the people's irate overtures.
