After the events of Heart of Fire, Wonder finds herself trying to find her place in the world no longer as a hero but simply as a young woman. When her father offers to take her under his wing and train her in the arts of illusion magic, she accepts in part to gain a sense of control over her life again, but also to run from the darkness in her heart which is corrupting her from the inside out. On her road to the place she used to call home, will the darkness following her consume her completely or can she find a light out of the darkness?
