Simon is a soldier who's forced to return home after many years, and someone mysterious saves him after a terrible accident.

After the horrors of war, in the sands of Afghanistan is where we find our Simon, the lost soldier who's wounded on the inside more than the out is a four tours of duty this soldier of special abilities and training and gets forced to go home after years of being in the field. And what he finds waiting for him is a drug addicted brother, a drunk for a dad, and a mom who lives alone.

While home he has terrible flashbacks, nightmares of what he performed as a soldier, it takes its toll on him in terrible ways, and constantly tempted to go the way of his brother and dad, but his Christian praying mom deters him.

Meanwhile, when he gets drunk one night and flips his truck into a nearby lake as he's slowly drowning is when the story of grace and redemption kicks in. As soldier Simon is drowning, he sees something that changes his life forever, and someone unknown helps to pull him out of his mangled truck.

Later, when the paramedics and police arrive, they're astounded at how he could survive as the truck is a mangled, burned out mess with only a Bible surviving the crash.

So, he later meets the woman of his dreams and this propels everything forward. Simon then heads back to the killing fields of Afghanistan and what happens changes everything.
