Co-Create Downtown Calgary shares 1,000 Ideas to transform the heart of the city in four separate issues.
What's in this issue:
Special section featuring workshop posters summarizing five possible narratives for the Downtown of the Future and dive into ideas No. 251-500.
1,000 Little Things (1LT) is an initiative to brainstorm possible future versions of
Downtown Calgary's economic, physical and social configuration. It is not about a big, singular plan. Reflecting past approaches that shaped the current shape of Downtown Calgary, it is about small, interconnected pieces of a greater vision — a shared, accessible, inclusive and, most of all, active and proud city centre. In Calgary, big things are built from multitudes of contributions. This collection
of ideas for the downtown marks a milestone and can serve as a pool for further discussion towards strategic implementation. Growing out of an academic exercise, we hope to mobilize interest and engagement from various stakeholders involved in shaping Downtown Calgary's future.
