Katie, one of Mirror Images stylists, is murdered at a party at Tumbleside Manor attended by some of the county's wealthiest families. With few initial leads and party guests intent on protecting their reputations, Chief Inspector Worcester has to whittle down the suspects from almost anyone of the 70 guests attending to those few individuals with no alibi. He must tread sensitively past what at first seems like a straightforward sexual motive, to delve into darker family secrets and relationships, State covert activity linked to Nazi loot, and the influence of current day banking with Middle East links.

The Mirror Images hairdressers may have some inside information to offer, but this time their stylist Katie seems to have been different things to different people. Can the Special Police Unit work out what drove someone to murder?
