When Richard Webi receives a note from his girlfriend who he hasn't seen in two months, he promptly makes arrangements to meet her, overcoming insurmountable obstacles along the way.

He notices her frail body but says nothing, happy to have reunited with her. At her aunt's place where she is living with her sister, Vanessa pours her heart out, mentioning how their father who lives in a different town had her sister undergo FGM with the intention of marrying her off to an old man. Richard is moved and feels pity for her. Vanessa, however, is glad that he visited and offered a listening ear.

Their happy reunion, however, is cut short when Vanessa finds Richard in the embrace of Sanaipei, her school mate and so-called friend. This act of unfaithfulness thrusts their young relationship into tumultuous waters.
