This is a collection of poems written from the perspective of a post independent Zimbabwean university graduate whose high hopes and dreans have been shatttered by the spectre of unemployment and economic stagnation. The honeymoon is over as the country gravitates towards the abyss as a result of mismanagement, bad governance and corruption. There is a spirit of anger, angst, pessimism and helplessness as the new graduate comes to terms with the intransigence and arrogance of the new ruling elite. Both social and economic lives are decaying and there is no stop to the rot. The poet pulpitatively declares that, like a once dormant volcano, he will erupt and burn these fat cats!
