My experiences in Algeria, France, and the United States have greatly affected my life. The title, "Where is Freedom?" reflects the turmoil I encountered throughout youth and adulthood. As a woman, mother and educator, I have fought for my religious beliefs and social status, under the threat of terrorism, which started in my native country, Algeria, in the 1990s. Now, it has spread across the world. Despite difficult moments, I have learned to survive in different environments. My search for freedom, peace, and serenity has strengthened me. Regardless of what happens in North Africa, Europe, or North America, today, I stand up as an Algerian-American woman.
