The book begins with an introduction to fundamental aspects of construction site noise which outlines the basic theory of construction noise and illustrates some practical procedures through on-site noise measurement and prediction. It then elaborates worldwide and local construction noise issues where it becomes a problem without proper noise management. The book covers topics such as sources, effects, regulations and mitigations of construction noise. It also looks into the theory of noise and noise propagation in construction sites. The book also discusses on-site construction noise measurements for different stages of construction including noise level and frequency spectra. The databases of construction machineries sound level obtained from previous research worldwide and construction noise prediction using BS 5228 Part 1: 2009 as recommended by the Department of Environment (DOE), Malaysia are also discussed in this book. The book closes with the results of measured and predicted noise levels and the discussion of results disparity. This book is useful as a reference for undergraduate as well as postgraduate students of engineering, construction, architecture and technology, practicing engineers and environmental consultants may also find the book useful.
