Four lonely people - a Hollywood television director, a college professor, a college student, and a United States Senator who is running for President – are all lost and struggling in their own ways. Set in late 1999 and early 2000, their lives intersect in unusual ways that reflect their unique personalities and incompatible goals for love and life. Will they ultimately help each other find an understanding of what it means to be home and the direction to get there?
