THE NURSERY MATTERS

MOTOR MOUTH NEWS

READERS’ RIDES

CLIVE’S RIDE • Clive Ward tweaks Yamaha’s Ténéré 700 to get more dirt action from the already impressive package (see what we did there?)

OTHER BUILD BITS

WATTSY’S WHEELS • Riding two world-dominating KTMs made famous by Shane Watts felt like robbing a bank of a million dollars and telling everyone about how I spent it.

INSIDERBUILD • A Husqvarna employee has taken on the task of building the ultimate Husqvarna FC250.

SECOND OPINION: MAT MCENTEE — PRO

RALSTON’S GREEN MACHINE • Beau Ralston shows us around the bike he uses on both the moto track and the enduro trails.

COMING SOON: KAWASAKI KX450XC

100 YEARS OF SUZUKI • One of the original Big Four hits the hundred and we dig out some of the great moments in racing that made ‘Zuke a titan.

RYAN DUNGEY

CHAD REED’S 2018 JGR BIKE • Chad left Yamaha for Suzuki in 2018, under the JGR banner. He started the year with a serious leg injury but ended both ’18 and 2019 with the record for supercross main event starts and podium finishes. A huge crash in 2019 left Chad with eight broken ribs and a collapsed lung, and his road to retirement was almost completely paved.

LEGENDS ROLL CALL

THE LAST OF ITS KIND • This is the last two-stroke motocross bike to win an AMA Supercross or Motocross Championship. The GOAT, Ricky Carmichael, piloted this 2005 Factory Makita Suzuki RM 250 to victory. It would be special to just have the opportunity to take some photos of this machine, but we not only did that — we were given the green light to fire it up and ride it!

WORLD BEATER • We have the privilege of taking Josh Strang’s ISDE-winning race bike out for a couple of days of unsupervised thrashing

MOSS’ METAL • We get the chance to throw a leg over Matt Moss’ 2015 factory RMZ450. That year would not go well for Matt, who was to hit that bobcat not long after this test. But nobody can deny his charge on the Suzuki team was one of the great periods for any single rider.

MATT MOSS’ MOTUL SUZUKI RMZ 450

THE STUNTMAN • Australian Corey Creed has launched, quite literally, onto the world scene of freestyle motocross.

LONG RANGE HYBRID • In an effort to find a true purpose, Husqvarna’s 701 Enduro turns to the fuel gods and gets a double dose of go juice.

HOW KATO GOT HUSKY – A MINI HISTORY LESSON

AND THEN CAME THE BIG UNIT

OLD WARRIORS • Beau raids his dad’s collection and cuts laps on a couple of legends.

AUSSIE-ONLY DUBYAARR • To celebrate the success of the Yamaha WR450F in Australia, Yamaha Motor Australia developed the Aussie Edition WR450F
