The inception of The Sabbath was an iconic milestone that became an ultimate insurance policy for both the increase (multiplication) of man and the fall of man. It was set in place at the very beginning of man so that all that he does; being man, may unfold within it. So, one would say The Sabbath is one of the ultimate first things that God brought out to safeguard man from the dire infancy of humanity; for when it was incepted man was but a day old.

It means from the beginning God had a way out for man; the second plan or plan B.

One astounding thing though is that the Sabbath does not just serve as an escape route. It is also a providence for a place of rest. Meaning man from the beginning was appointed to die and go and await judgement. So awaiting meant there should from the beginning be a place of rest.

Hebrews 9:27 KJV And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Hebrews 4:1-11 KJV Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

One thing that the set of scripture above encompass that was missing from the revelation given to Moses is the ideal that whoever will enter rest is done with their earthly service and are gone in to their next face of life. Yet for God The Sabbath was a quick one during humanity's infancy. For He had to quickly come back for the setting out and ordination of The Garden Of Eden and Adam; also adding the field life and Eve on a later date. Adding a second reason to The Sabbath; being, The Man In The Garden.
