Jenaya Perdue, lover of all (mostly all) things Boujie (when within her budget), hipster (when not too smelly and doesn't include exercise), and Blackity Black (especially when said things are shirtless, male, and have lovely muscles), gives you a window into her mind, heart, body, and proclivities as she navigates being #BlackInDenver. In 2700ish Facebook statuses and 39ish essays, journey with her as she finishes out her 20s in her favorite town in America—but also the town that gives her all the feelings. It's hard being Black and it's hard being in the cesspool of whiteness day-in and day-out. She will challenge your proclivities as you exchange your lens for hers.

Jenaya is an Army kid who was raised in Kentucky and Georgia mostly, but roots are forever Denver. She earned her Doctorate in Education 4 days before her 27th birthday on April 30th, 2014 at 144pm and vacillates between academic writing and writing for regular people. She loves storytelling, kale salad, collecting passport stamps, napping, scrolling Facebook, daydreaming, untangling knots, and macaroni and cheese. She is desperately afraid of worms. She currently lives in Shenzhen, China, but that is always subject to change cuz she's getting pretty tired of soy sauce. This is her first book.
