Each devotional is introduced using a number that has some association with a scripture in one form or another. The format is D I Y (If you don't sow you don't reap) in terms of checking the suggested scriptures in the bible version of your choice, then evaluating and thinking through the challenges that allows the Holy Spirit to bring to your attention, that requiring your positive action on.
