Nate now leads his own flight of F26s in Knighthawk Squadron. Little does he know that his first mission will be so deadly few are expected to return alive.
The Terran Union is triumphant, with most of the human worlds of the old Alliance now under its grasp. Only two worlds remain, with Prometheus in ruins, and protected by the remnants of the Alliance Navy, and Hyperion caught in the middle of a brutal invasion by Union forces. The defenders fight on bravely, knowing they have no way of escape under the command of the legendary warrior General Gun.
Nate and his elite Knighthawks join the rescue mission, but their objective is not to pluck the survivors to safety on Hyperion. Instead they join a small but elite band of pilots and soldiers to conduct a raid so incredible it will become the stuff of legend.
