Does art need to be beautiful? Can humour be beautiful? What is the relationship between beauty and mimetic behaviour? What does literature have to do with beauty? What are the limitations of neuroscientific approaches to beauty? Are the experience of beauty and the production of "art" confined to anatomically modern humans? Is the experience of beauty confined to humans at all? These are just some of the questions discussed in this volume.
