An Aussie story of family and magic set in country Australia depicting a young boy who is on the autism spectrum; named Augie Bartholomew KettleBlack, A.K.A. The Squid. He has a great love for all Australian flora and fauna and his family, but unbeknown to him is their Witchery powers till a great storm comes to their little farmlet and shakes their yellowed corrugated tin house to its very foundations. Where starts a fantastical journey with Squids older sister Lilly and his pet Guinea pig Tiny who speaks in "Squeaks" on their living breathing Chesterfield couch named Chester, part African elephant and part something that was before. On an adventure across the Tasman sea, to find the island of the Singing trees, introducing Squid to the ways of Witchery, and the quirky world of Aussie fairies.
