The Angel of Tobruk
Wounded at Tobruk in 1941 Jeff Douglas is nursed by Stephanie Davies, an English nurse whom he thought was an Angel.
Later in Tel Aviv, they meet again and fall in love and spend many idyllic days and nights together. But the war draws Jeff to El Alamein where he is wounded yet again.
Their romance continues, and again their happiness knows no bounds until Jeff must return to Australia.
He reads her letters until she informs him she has married someone else. Jeff is devastated.
But all is not lost for Jeff when Stephanie's husband dies in the war.
