Setting Up This Excerpt:
This scene takes place in the base-camp of Dr. Norel's Vortex Riders. The base is on an unnamed planet in another dimension.
The "Thrill Kings" have just returned from a Bleed Zone mission where they wrangled several aggressive interdimensional creatures, and then narrowly escaped an attack from soldiers sent by Colonel Bloch to steal their interdimensional vehicles.
The team has certainly earned the right to sit back and relax with friends.
But things don't turn out that way.
