The 22nd edition of the Guide has been revised throughout, including:
Raymond H. Mikkola, a partner at the law firm Pallett Valo LLP, has updated content in Chapter 15 that deals with the land transfer tax payable when an option to purchase is registered on title to property, along with precedents. Mr. Mikkola has provided new content regarding the super lien priority granted to the Minister of National Revenue (Canada) when required money collected by a taxpayer as HST or GST has not been remitted, along with an example precedent. He has also provided new content in Chapter 24 that discusses the 10-day pre-lien notice period required by section 85 of the Condominium Act, 1998. New content has also been provided for Chapter 25, in which Mr. Mikkola discusses the expropriation process, along with precedents for a Certificate of Approval to Expropriate and a sample Plan of Expropriation.
New case annotations have been added to the Guide, to commentary dealing with easements, certificates of pending litigation, condominiums, metes and bounds and property descriptions, fraudulent persons, the Non-Resident Speculation Tax, sheriff's sale, power of sale, surveys, the Planning Act, and the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan.
