Jessica, Darnell and Samuel are turning 16. An heirloom left for them by their Mother opens up on their sixteenth birthday. They also receive a visitor - a vampire Count, who warns them that their Mother's arch nemesis - Dark Lord Arcanus, has been awakened. Their Mother had imprisoned him but a coven of witches had meddled and re-awakened a scourge on all of mankind.
