Jessica thinks for a while that she has inherited a mental disorder from her mother because she went out onto the moors during the dead of a winter night and held a ritual that could have resulted in human sacrifice. What she didn't realize was the facts supported the idea that two worlds had collided because a demon from one world (Sheol) wanted access granted into her earthly realm.
