A smalltown Oklahoma family has endured the financial strife of The Great Depression and survived the struggles of The War. Following World War II, they are now faced with the challenges of The Aftermath. One son has fought in the invasion of North Africa, the conquering of Sicily, the hard fight up the Italian peninsula to Rome, and, finally, the Battle of the Bulge in France. The other son has witnessed the horrors of the Holocaust and the hordes of displaced people. Now, they must return to their small home town and begin their civilian life. Their parents found financial security with their wartime jobs, but are now faced with adjusting to living with severely reduced income. All must deal with local prejudices and politics as they adapt to the turmoil of American people returning to peacetime.

This is the third book of a three book series. The first two books are: DIRE CIRCUMSTANCES - the Great Depression and DIRE CIRCUMSTANCES - the War. Both are available as ebooks at smashwords.com and other ebook sellers.
