In the Works is a collection of short stories that go from genres such as high fantasy to apocalyptic.
The collection starts off with the story, "When Home is Found". The story is about a boy named Alex who travels across the world to help his friend. There he discovers the people he thought were savages were anything but. And he finds a home in the last place he expected.
The second story in the collection is, "A Christmas Story". Which is an apocalyptic story in which the Earth reclaims herself from those who ruined her.
The final story in the collection is, "The Valiant King". Zachariah was once a mighty King until he lost everything. Now he waits for the moment where his fate is to be determined.
