Lori St. James abandons her career as a a world-class figure skater when tragedy strikes her life. Now hiding out in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, she's raising her three-year-old niece Caitlin and running an inn. Though everyone in the small community knows her history, Lori is hiding from media scruteny and her protective neighbours are determined to help her out.

Dan Barrington-Smith is a member of one of the most prominent and wealthy families in the region. An executive in the family's company, he works hard and plays hard. But living in the shadow of a famous family has it's drawbacks, including built in success. Dan wants toHe wants to go out on his own to create something new, but he can't do that as one of the Barrington=Smiths. He's hiding his identity as he searches for the opportunity that will form his future.
