All your senses can help you to know things about the world around you. Your eyes let you see near and far, and your ears bring you sounds. Your fingers and feet can feel things, and your nose helps you breathe and catches smells good and bad. Then there's your mouth, which tells you what things taste like!
Information from your senses helps your thoughts appear and change what you think about. But even so, you get to choose what to think about. You can decide to grab on to a thought and let it take you for a ride, or you can choose to let it go and watch it soar away. It's up to you, and either choice may lead you to a good day.
This children's verse explores the five senses and how they shape thought, and it reminds young readers that they possess the power to control their own thinking.
