A girl. A boy. A talking camel. Can three unlikely heroes save a Kingdom?
Princess Amber doesn't want a governess. Nicknamed "Princess Persnickety" when she was very young, she would much rather spend time in the stables, fish in the stream, and make up stories than learn useless skills like embroidery. So when a Messenger from another land arrives by camel, she's delighted to discover the large beast can talk, even though it swears her to secrecy.
Stefan likes his work in the stables since he's most comfortable around animals. His adopted parents want him to become a weaver, but he yearns for something more. When the Messenger's camel confides that his rider's warning of a coming attack is a lie, Stefan knows he has to take action. But what?
Determined to prevent her father from making a terrible mistake, Princess Amber resolves to find a way to warn him of the sinister deception without breaking her word to the camel. Meanwhile, Stefan begins work on disguises for himself and the camel so they can slip past the guards and ride into the desert in search of help.
Can a couple of 12-year-olds and a Talking Camel save the kingdom?
