The way to wisdom has been taught for thousands of years, and yet, only a few have been able to reach it. For most people it sounds weird or too abstract due to the lack of a coherent explanation of how our minds arise, and what this wisdom actually means. When the connection between the Buddhist wisdom and the conventional world is clarified, the flaws of our normal view become evident. Then the path to wisdom makes sense, and you can see exactly why and how it works (in the brain). This also clarifies what emphasis was missing, and thus, may provide the "key" to enter.
There is a long way to be made just to reach the starting point. Most people fail to follow the meditation instructions without it. I call it "the path to the boat," and it is made by simple logical explanations and powerful demonstrations. But this is not enough, as hinted by the Third Noble Truth. This insight is normally misunderstood and neglected. Yet, it is indispensable, constituting the sole gateway to wisdom – if missed, the path is blocked. So what does this Noble Truth really mean and how does it work? To answer these simple questions correctly we must see the whole picture, which is the primary aim of this work.
The book follows the "Theory of the Mind" and uses its guidelines in order to analyze the essence of well-known insight meditations, and to show the driving force and rationale behind them. Consistency is the leading rule; it is also the goal, and the only true verification.
