 That was just one of the many headlines circulating after Tori Blake was pulled from the burnt wreckage of a car fire that killed her parents. Without so much as a scratch on her, no one could explain how she survived such a horrific disaster while her parents incinerated.

 Traumatized by the event, Tori's childhood memories were extinguished, along with the flames. With only vague recollections of happy times and parental love, she returns home fourteen years later to uncover the truth about her parents' deaths.

 Unanswered questions about the fire's combustion and its intensity have fueled the rumor mill in Harold. Though she initially dismisses the whispers about witchcraft and devil worship, Tori finds it harder to disregard the possibility of a paranormal cause after she discovers her home is being haunted by its former residents.

 The deeper she digs into the past, the more tarnished her image of her perfect family becomes. With her investigation soured by accounts of abuses and betrayals, Tori embraces her inherited mantle of necromancy and starts interrogating the dead.
